When I was a kid the last school days before summer usually entailed an academic olympics consisting of scholastic games like history trivia, speed math, 3-legged races, a spelling bee, obstacle courses, science challenges and so forth. In honor of it being the last week of the school year in many cities across the country I’ve compiled a list of classroom scavenger hunt ideas for those teachers who want to go out with a bang. Enjoy!
Here’s a great Art Scavenger Hunt List created by art teacher Abigael Escobal from Mohegan Lake, NY. (Reposted with permission) Her list is a brilliant way to get students (or any kids) familiar with luminaries of art history, the genres their works belong to and an appreciation for the emotions and ideas that art can evoke.
